I was educated in the University of Wisconsin system at Stout and River Falls, then attended graduate school at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, earning my MFA in Printmaking and Book Arts. I endeavored to remain a printmaker. However, I had to finally admit to myself that I simply could not re-pay student loans, purchase a house (necessary if you want to have a printing press), purchase a press and support myself all at the same time. In grief and a modicum of peace, I gave it up.
After I met and married Peter, we began going out in the field; him to paint and I at loose ends, did a lot of reading and then began taking photographs. When I wore out my camera I began once again to work in watercolors.
More recently I've been obsessed with needle felting.
I currently live and work out of my home in western Wisconsin, the United States. I blog at https://www.gravelpit-farm.com/blog
